La Semana de la Identidad de Sechura se celebra del 19 al 22 de junio para conmemorar la creación política de Sechura como distrito, el 21 de junio de 1825, durante el gobierno de Simón Bolívar. La Municipalidad Provincial la organiza para revalorar la historia sechurana con actividades protocolares, culturales y artísticas (Municipalidad Provincial de Sechura — gob.pe).
El programa incluye ceremonias oficiales, verbenas, presentaciones folclóricas y exposiciones que destacan la identidad del Bajo Piura, con la Catedral de Sechura y el desierto circundante como telones de fondo.
